1. Department Introduction

As a key department of humanities and social science, the Department of Economics and Management (DEM) has steadfastly advocated the college motto of system innovation, cooperation between colleges and enterprises, commitment to production and learning, and cultivating qualified graduates. Cooperating with institutions and enterprises, DEM has optimized its disciplines, curriculum, teaching staff, construction, and practical training centers. Furthermore, DEM also attaches great importance to develop students' humanistic quality, hoping to cultivate students in an all-around way. The students of DEM are featured as mastering many skills while specializing in one and easily adapting to a wide range of jobs. With high rate of employment and good quality, the graduates of DEM are highly welcomed by society and employers. Currently, DEM which now has over 30 classes and 1300 students provides five programs, namely marketing, economic information, accounting, e-commerce, logistics management. The department is proud of its outstanding faculty, including 15 professors and associate professors. Among the 40 full-time teachers, 21 of them hold master’s or doctor’ degree. And 28 of them are double-professionally-titled teachers. Furthermore, around 30 mentors from enterprises are invited to give students guidance during the process of practical training.

2.1 Marketing

A. General information

DEM aims to cultivate advanced, skillful and talented students with good humanistic quality and professional accomplishment, language expression and communication skills, good team cooperation spirit, and students who grasp the professional knowledge of marketing theory, understand the technical knowledge of mechanical and electronic products, possess the abilities of marketing and business activities and the skills to engage in marketing, business activities, organization and planning, business agent, public relations, operations and management at the grass- roots level.

C. Employment

The students in DEM are qualified for all kinds of jobs in enterprises like manufacturing, commercial circulation, e-commerce and logistics, which specialize in machinery, electronic appliances, automobile, IT and communication products. They can work as business image representative, dealing with public relations, customer service, product sales, market research and forecast, marketing and business planning, regional marketing director.


2.2 Logistics Management

A. General information

Logistics Management refers to planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, controlling and supervising to the logistic activities based on the principle of management and scientific method according to material data entity flow pattern in the process of social reproduction. Logistics Management makes the logistics activities achieve the best coordination and cooperation, reduce logistics costs, improve logistics efficiency and economic benefits. Modern logistics management is based on system theory, information theory and theory of controlling. Logistics Management aims to cultivate high-quality practical talents with career development foundation, who have a good professional ethics, master modern knowledge of logistics management theory and practical techniques, are talented with professional abilities of strong warehouse management, transportation organization, purchasing management, logistics marketing development and logistics information processing, and who can go in for the logistics management and logistics project plan execution and operation.

C. Employment

To cultivate graduates for the third party logistics enterprises, commercial chain enterprises and production enterprises. The main jobs are: logistics market developers, warehouse administrator, vehicle dispatcher, logistics information processors, the head of the administrative officials, marketing director, warehouse supervisor (manager), transportation supervisor, director of information department.

2.3 E-commerce

A. General information

E-commerce is a kind of business activity based on information network technology and commodity exchange or related trading activities and services by means of electronic trading on Internet, Intranet and VAN (value-added Network ). It is more electronic, networking and informative than traditional business activities. The major of E-commerce, which was set up in 2002, with a long history and abundant experience is a member of the Teaching Steering Committee of the national mechanical vocational education management. It cooperates closely with industries and enterprises and keeps up with industrial development trends. It is to cultivate qualified and practical talents with abilities and skills in Internet marketing, commerce operation, website construction and promotion, marketing and planning and talents with good professional qualities, and mastering basic theories of the electronic commerce and professional skills of business management.
